You can now buy an Amazon Fire Phone for £99

Putting it nicely, the Amazon Fire Phone has been a serious flop. You know it, I know, and Amazon knows it. Despite the fact that Amazon is still adamant that a successor is coming, it appears to have totally given up on the original Fire Phone — discounting its price by 75 per cent in the UK.

The Fire Phone is available with a choice of 32GB or 64GB of storage, normally costing £399 and £479 respectively. Today’s sale means that you can get the 32GB model for £99, and the 64GB model for £149.

There are, of course, a couple of downsides to consider as well. For starters the deal expires at the end of the day, meaning you don’t have much time to decide whether you actually want one or not. The phones are also network-locked, and will only work with an O2 SIM card.

If you’ve been intrigued by the phone’s unique features, like Firefly and Dynamic Perspective, this is the perfect opportunity to get your hands on a Fire Phone without spending too much. Or you could use this opportunity to point and laugh at Amazon.

Presumably Amazon still has quite a bit of stock to shift, so I highly doubt that this will be the only time Amazon discounts the Fire Phone in this way. Expect to see a few more sales like itthis in the coming months.
