The Scratch Deck challenges DJ Hero at the decks

The heat is on for DJ style games, and it seems DJ Hero from Activision has some competition on its hands, with the scarily similar looking Scratch Deck. The game is called Scratch: The Ultimate DJ.Wouldn’t you know it- it also features a peripheral set of decks to allow you to score points on a turntable-style highway.

The game is created by Genius and will be available on the PS3 and XBOX platforms later this year. Their music catalogue looks quite impressive, as they’ve got a play-list that includes the Gorillaz, Beastie Boys, The Black Eyed Peas and Run DMC. It sounds pretty entertaining, but I think I’d be happier if they’d included some hard dance/trance anthems, and it will be interesting to see how this fares against the Guitar Hero franchise…

Price will be a telling issue though, as neither games have yet disclosed a pricepoint and that will be a key factor in the current economy. Let the DJ Battle begin!
