The future is here: LG launches a phone for your wrist

Watch phones fall into the ‘Hey, haven’t they already invented them? No? Oh, I could have sworn… No? Really? Huh’ category of gadgets. Ubiquitous in any film with the word future, space or ‘Part >3’ in the title, it seems LG has stepped up to the plate with the news of the GD910.

It’s a 3G device you presumably use with a Bluetooth headset, although it has a 1.4-inch touchscreen with in-built camera for video calling. There’s also MP3 playback, and text-to-speech, for reading your text messages.

Interested? Even mildly? Just a bit? It’s rumoured to be launching in Europe later in the year. Hoverboots at the ready.

  • ok, I totally want hooverboots now – and an Inspector Gadget style hat-copter thingy!

“Watch phones fall into the ‘Hey, haven’t they already invented them? No? Oh, I could have sworn… No? Really? Huh’ category of gadgets.” They really do – Especially with the recent bluetooth watch accessories which I’ve seen people confuse with Watch phones.

Soon enough we’ll all be able to play at being secret agents.
Then we just need to get to work on the jetpacks and flying cars!
