Windows Phone 10 might be unveiled on 21st January

We’ve head quite a bit about Windows 10, much of it from Microsoft itself, but we haven’t heard all that much about Windows Phone 10. That might be about to change, because word is that Microsoft is going to show off Windows Phone 10 at its Windows 10 event on 21st January.

That’s according to sources speaking to The Verge, who claim that Microsoft will be showing off the mobile OS’s new features and how the design will bring it in line with Windows 10 for desktops and the Xbox One.

Windows Phone 10 will apparently be an amalgamation of Windows Phone and Windows RT, allowing the same apps to run on both systems. The Verge’s sources claims that for the time being it’s only being referred to as either Windows 10 Mobile or Windows Mobile. Presumably the official name will be announced at the event.

We’re just over a week away from the event now, so expect to hear a few more rumours in the meantime. We can’t confirm any of them, but at least we don’t have long to wait.
