CES 2015: Meridian Audio teams up with TIDAL music streaming

At CES this week, Cambridgeshire-based Meridian Audio announced its new audio music partnership with high-resolution streaming service TIDAL.

The service is available from this month to both old and new owners of Meridian’s Sooloos digital media, giving them unlimited access to more than 25 million songs. All Meridian’s products use MQA (‘Master Quality Authenticated’), the innovative technology they created which uses music files captured from a track’s master recording for a better listening experience. TIDAL also lets you take your music offline, create playlists, and get exclusive recommendations.

Meridian Audio’s CEO John Buchanan said, ‘The partnership with TIDAL is significant for a company such as Meridian which prides itself in delivering a super-quality digital signal throughout the path from the studio to the home, using advanced digital signal processing technologies.’

As a special bonus, anyone who buys the new Meridian Explorer 2 (which costs aroud £200) will get a free, three-month trial of the streaming service. It otherwise costs £19.99 a month, which isn’t cheap, but your ears will probably thank you.
