CES 2015: Lenovo announces third YOGA range with its first 3D camera

Lenovo has announced its third YOGA range at CES 2015. The lineup includes the YOGA 3 tablet, in two different sizes, alongside the ThinkPad YOGA laptop, in three different sizes, as well as an optional Intel® RealSense™ 3D camera.

The new YOGA 3 comes in an 11-in model or a new 14-in model, both measuring 18.3mm thin or less, and capable of Lenovo’s famous four positions – Laptop, Stand, Tent and Tablet.

On the 14-in model, there’ll be 5th Generation Intel® Core™ i7 processors, Windows 8.1, FHD screens and fast 802.11 A/C WiFi, as well as stereo speakers and Waves audio. Both models will now also include Harmony intelligent software, which helps users discover and customise applications and includes automatic brightness adjustment when reading a book, enables motion control or optimizes audio settings in specific modes and recommends new apps.

There is also a range of colours – Clementine Orange, Platinum Silver, new Chalk White and Ebony Black.

The ThinkPad YOGA will be available in 12-in, 14-in and new 15-in, and will feature a new ActivePen technology, which allows for more convenient and accurate handwriting, in select models along with an optional Intel RealSense 3D camera on the ThinkPad YOGA 15, Lenovo’s first 3D camera.

All three models are 19mm thin, and, according to Lenovo, will have all day battery life. They also have 5th Generation Intel® Core™ i7 processors, Windows 8.1, storage up to 1 TB and Dolby Home Theatre v4.

Dilip Bhatia, vice president worldwide marketing and design, PC Group, Lenovo, said: ‘As users’ lifestyles evolve and change, so does our YOGA line of convertibles and tablets.

‘Our latest products fuse new handwriting technologies and 3D camera technologies with the flexibility, performance and a more adaptive computing experience the YOGA family is known for. All this adds up to making the PC more and more responsive to you.’

The YOGA 3 11-in will be available in February at £549.99 from Dixons, John Lewis, Amazon and the Lenovo website, while the 14-in model will be available in April with models starting at £649.99.
