CES 2015: Lenovo launches lightweight, E-ink wearable Vibe Band

Lenovo has been busy launching plenty of laptops, displays, tablets and smartphones at CES 2015 already this year, but it’s also announced a brand new wearable: the Vibe Band VB10.

Although it may look similar to other curved wearables currently on the market, the slim gadget has an E-ink display, a number of different styles to choose from, a premium metal body and it promises a whole week’s worth of battery life even when every feature alive and kicking.

When it comes to tracking the Vibe ticks all of the boxes, keeping tabs on your activity levels, sleep quality, steps you’ve taken and calories you’ve burned up. So there’s no great USP in terms of data collection, but it’s certainly set to stand its ground in the wearable activity tracking market.

But the Vibe isn’t just a fitness tracker, it also incorporates a number of smartwatch-style features, like the fact it looks loads like a watch and it displays social media updates and notifications from your phone on-the-move.

The band is expected to launch later this Spring and will support both Android and iOS devices. There hasn’t been any official word about whether it’ll be coming to the US and UK in April though, but we’ll keep you updated when the Shiny team check out the device in the flesh at CES 2015 later in the week.
