Sony has announced the Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact

A new range of Z3 phones wouldn’t be complete without an Xperia tablet, and Sony has revealed the latest one: The Xperia Z3 Tablet Combact, which it claims is the slimmest and lightest compact tablet in the world.

As with all Xperia products, the Z3 Tablet Compact is both water and dust proof (IP65/68), meaning you can carry it around the swimming pool as much as you want without having to worry about it getting wet. It also has an 8-inch full HD display, a quad-core 2.5GHz Snapdragon 801 processor, 3GB of RAM, and PS4 remote play, which lets you stream your favourite PS4 games to your tablet. Plus the 4,500 mAh battery lets means you’ll get 13 hours of video playback out of it before it needs to be plugged in.

Sony hasn’t revealed any pricing details yet, but the Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact will be available this autumn in both 4G and Wi-Fi-only variants. No word on whether there will be a full sized Zperia Z3 tablet yet, but the ‘compact’ designation hints that there might be.
