Lauren, Lauren Conrad, oh you know, the one from The Hills that didn’t carve her face up with plastic surgery or marry a complete waste of space. The slightly more boring one with the good hair. Despite being a star on one of the dullest and most ridiculous shows ever to be aired, Lauren has made quite a name for her herself in beauty and fashion circles. Not only has she got her own book, but the blog she helps run called The Beauty Department is going from strength to strength (and yes, we admit it, it’s one of our guilty pleasures here at Shiny Shiny). She’s likable, knows a thing or two when it comes to make-up and hair and doesn’t take herself too seriously, which means the tips she shares are useful and her life is (dare we say it?) kind of, well, interesting now cameras aren’t glued to her forehead. So… What does she actually pin? Well considering her career is all about her beauty and make-up tips nowadays it’s hardly surprising that she’s got a great style board called "wear" and an even better beauty board called "primp". We like that she doesn’t just re-publish content from The Beauty Department but she seems to (or her team seems to) actively go looking for content that’s going to get beauty addicts and fashion lovers excited. Her other boards are less inspiring, but there’s some good content on there, I’d definitely recommend checking out "grow", "make" and "smile". No comment about the fact the boards are all cute and quirky one word labels. OK one comment, irritating. Follow her: pinterest.com/laurenconrad1
Some people choose to avoid the inane ramblings of celebrities online like the plague, whereas others seem to have made it their sole purpose in life to get re-tweeted by Katy Perry.
If you fall into the second camp you’ll probably already be stalking/following your favourite celebrities on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and any other place they tend to hang out online, but do you know what they’re up to on Pinterest?
Here are five celebrities that we think you should be following, for useful tips, great photos or just pure comedy value. Be sure to look out for part 2 next week.
N.B. It’s important to remember that it’s pretty much impossible to tell whether these are the actual celebrities they claim to be given there’s no approved account system like there is on Twitter.
