Huawei’s Ascend P8 smartphone is launching in London in April

Huawei has announced the Ascend P8, it’s next flagship smartphone, and has revealed to Gizmodo UK that it will be launching at a special event in London on April 15th.

Jerry Huang, Huawei’s global marketing director, revealed to the site that wearables are its priority for March’s Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, but it will be launching its latest flagship device a month later.

Kevin Ho, president of Huawei’s handset product line said:

“We launched the P6 in London and maybe we launch our new flagship in London this year. I think in the London market we are thinking about how to optimise our sales team and improve our collaboration with operators, there are a lot of challenges to sell in the UK. Consumers in London have a lot of choice and they have a very good sense of smartphones. We are working hard to increase market share.”

If Huawei does have it’s eyes on the European market then it has a lot of work to do, especially since the likes of Apple and Samsung dominate the flagship market.

Huawei hasn’t confirmed any of the Ascend P8’s specs right now, presumably it’s waiting for the official launch to reveal everything. We’ll keep you updated if anything else comes to light.
