CES 2015: This smartphone has a whopping four-day battery life

Out of all the features a smartphone could have, a long-lasting battery is probably the most important. But forget the two-day battery life of the Xperia Z3, Blu’s Studio Energy is apparently capable of lasting four days on a single charge.

The Studio Energy comes with a 5,000 mAh battery, one Blu claims will last four days of ‘standard’ use. If that wasn’t enough, you can also use it to provide some extra life to your other gadgets if need be.

Sadly the longevity isn’t just down to the battery’s capacity, and the Studio Energy’s hardware isn’t as spectacular as many of the flagship devices currently on the market. It comes with a 720p display, 1GB of RAM, a 1.3GHz Mediatek processor, and doesn’t have 4G. While that hardware is decisively mid-low range, it does have the advantage of not requiring as much power as more powerful components.

Thankfully the hardware is also reflected in the price, and the Studio Energy will cost a mere $179 (£119) when it goes on sale at the end of the month. The four-day battery life will make it ideal for a lot of people, but if you’re more interested in something more powerful the price means it would make a perfect backup phone.
