CES 2015: HP’s Pavilion Mini and Stream Mini are palm-sized Windows PCs

When someone talks about a desktop Windows PC you probably think of a large tower-like computer or an expensive laptop. Who says they have to be large, cumbersome, and pricey though? If it’s possible to have a mini Mac, why can’t we have a mini Windows PC? That seems to be the idea with HP’s Pavilion Mini and Stream Mini.

HP clearly has its sights set on tackling Chrome OS here, because while these set top box-sized PCs are fairly small they still pack a pretty powerful punch and come with the full version of Windows 8.1.

The Pavilion Mini is the more powerful of the two, coming with 1TB of storage space, 8GB of RAM, and an Intel i3 processor. The Stream Mini is more aimed at the people who work from the cloud, coming with 32GB of storage, 2GB of RAM, a 1.2GHz processor, and 200GB of OneDrive storage that’s valid for two years.

Both systems are compatible with a variety of displays thanks to HDMI and DisplayPort output, as well as coming with Bluetooth and Wi-Fi built in. If that wasnt enough they also have four USB 3.0 ports.

UK pricing and availability has yet to be revealed, but both the Pavilion Mini and the Stream Mini will be available on the US from 14th January priced at $320 (£210) and $180 (£118) respectively.
