Celebrate the OnePlus One’s first birthday with a stylish external battery pack

Yesterday marked the first anniversary of the release of the OnePlus One. Remarkable that it’s been that long isn’t it? To celebrate, OnePlus announced a number of special offers for people to take advantage of — including a new affordable external battery pack.

The OnePlus Power Bank costs just £14, and comes packing a 10,000 mAh capacity. That means it holds enough juice to fully charge a OnePlus One (and most other smartphones on the market) three time before it dies. Two USB ports mean that you can charge two devices simultaneously, and recharging the Power Bank itself is all done by micro USB.

It’s worth mentioning that the price and specifications of the Power Bank aren’t that much different from other 10,000 and 12,000 mAh battery packs that are currently available. That being said, it’s sleek thin design means it certainly looks a heck of a lot nicer than most of the comparable devices I’ve seen. Plus it’s a branded device, and that carries a certain amount of respectability. The fact that the brand name doesn’t come with an increased mark-up is all the better for people who are wary of buying tech on Amazon or eBay from brands they’ve never heard of.

The only major downside to the Power Bank is officially labelled as ‘coming soon’, which means you can’t pre-order it yet. But when pre-orders do open up yo will be able to choose whether you want it in black or silver. We’ll let you know when we do get an official release date.
