Apple rumours: Large screen iPad, camera flash components leaked

Those Apple rumours just keep coming, especially coming up to the iPhone 6′s rumoured launch window, and keeping up with them all is proving to be a difficult task. To keep you up to speed, here is today’s round-up of the biggest Apple rumours and news.

Larger, 12.9-inch, iPads could be released next year.

You what what tablets really need? They need to be bigger, as big as a laptop screen in fact. Well apparently that’s what Apple are planning on doing, with an iPad that has the same size screen as a Macbook. Reports are saying that this could be part of Tim Cook’s plan to revitalise tablet sale, while other say that it’s so Apple can go head-to-head with Microsoft’s Surface.  This wouldn’t be the first time we’ve heard rumours about large iPads, rumours for which originally started back in May.

There’s no word on exactly when the new, larger, iPads would be released, other than the fact that it’ll be sometime next year. [PCPro]

2. Leaked images show off the new True Tone Flash components in the iPhone 6

One of the upgraded features of the iPhone 5S was the inclusion of a redesigned camera flash called “True Tone”, which was designed to ensure the flash was more natural and a lot less harsh. There had been concerns that Apple had removed the component from the iPhone 6 since leaked specs showed nowhere for it to go. Thanks to a leak from Chinese repair company ElekWorld, we now have a glimpse of what the flash in the iPhone 6 might be like. All we can really gleam from it is that here there is a button that’s assumed to be sleep/wake button on the side, which would seem to contradict earlier rumours that the button would be on the right hand side of the phone. It’s not particularly easy to see what’s what though, since all this is is piece of interior hardware.

We’ll have to take it with a grain of salt for now, but undoubtedly someone will rip open the iPhone 6 as soon as it’s released — meaning we’ll be able to know exactly what’s what. [Ubergizmo]
