The five things you need to know about Sony's huge new Xperia Z Ultra mobile
This morning, as expected, Sony dropped its huge screen Phablet, the Xperia Z Ultra. Here are the five quick key things you need to know about it.
1 The screen is huge. It is 6.4 inches, yet fully HD, which is bigger than just about every other mobile on sale. In spite of its size though it is incredibly thin at 6.55mm.
2 Yet is can fit in your pocket. Sort of. It passed the pocket test. In spite of its size it will fit in a standard pair of men’s jeans front pocket.
3 You can use it to listen to music in the bath. The Xperia Z was waterproof, but with this model Sony has upped the ante further and the 3.5mm jack is also waterproof. So you can listen to music on your headphones in the bath.
4 Sony has packed a lot of its TV tech on the screen So it has technology that for example will take low res video and fill in missing pixels. There are also tweaks to improve sharpness, contrast and colour saturation.
5 It will be the first phone to run the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor. 2.2 Ghz of processing power makes the phone lightning quick and according to Sony improves battery life and a whole lot more.
