The Death App
Admittedly this isn't an actual app, it's kind of a web app for your mobile, but we felt it deserved WTF status just as much as the others on the list. The Death App tracks where people around you have died. It plots deaths from road accidents and murders on your phone, using your location to work out where the nearest ones are. The creators claim it could potentially be life saving as it mat draw people's attention to black spots and dangerous areas. However, we just think it's a bit creepy and feeds the public's odd morbid curiosity. For death, the dead and the dying. You can get it on your Android or iPhone by reading a QR code with a barcode reading app like RedLaser. Find the QR code here: http://apps.mobilenationhq.com/deathapp/
Apps are brilliant little things aren’t they?! They tell us where we are, what’s going on, let us take great photos, save money and shop with ease. However, for every great app out there we can guarantee there are 10 that are stupid, pointless and just plain weird available for oddballs to download too.
So although there was plenty of choice, we’ve picked out what we consider to be the weirdest, creepiest and stupidest apps of 2011, whether you want to find out who died around you, use your phone as a vibrator or find out more about your girlfriend’s period, we’ve got you covered.
