Amazon's Kindle Paperwhite has a built-in light like the Nook device, allowing you to read regardless of the lighting conditions. It's got 62% more pixels than past devices and 25% better contrast too for sharper, darker text. Even with the light on the Paperwhite will last eight weeks and can hold up to 1,100 books.
