HONOR launches Band 5 fitness tracker

Huawei sub-brand HONOR today has unveiled the Band 5, its latest affordable a fitness tracker and smart band.

Featuring  AMOLED Full Colour touchscreen, 24-hour heart rate monitoring, multiple sports and fitness modes and eight customised watch faces, the HONOR Band 5 is available now for £29.99 at Amazon. It will be available at Argos later this month with O2 and Asda coming soon.

Says Olivier Dobo, Marketing Director at HONOR UK:

“HONOR Band 5 provides the perfect mix of technology and style, meaning you can keep track of your day and night routines while still expressing your personality. By combining complete control of your notifications, a full suite of fitness tracking and better than ever sleep monitoring, Band 5 becomes the perfect accessory for any activity.”

The HONOR Band 5 is available in Classic Navy blue, Meteorite Black and Dahlia Pink (pictured above). Features include the following:

24/7 Health Monitoring

Powered by the latest HUAWEI TruSeen 3.0 heart rate technology, the HONOR Band 5 provides more accurate, 24-hour real-time continuous heart rate monitoring to help users keep track of their health and fitness. The heart rate monitor also switches to an invisible light while you sleep, preventing night light interference. There’s also a heart rate alert which vibrates and flashes to alert users when their real-time heart rate exceeds the pre-set limits.

The HONOR Band 5 also features TruSleep technology which automatically records light, deep and REM sleep and monitors users’ sleep quality. Supported by Huawei AI technology and certified by the Center for Dynamical Biomarkers at Harvard Medical School, TruSleep claims to identify six common sleep disorders and offers more than 200 customised suggestions to improve sleep quality.

Professional Fitness Tracker

HONOR Band 5 is also an exercise companion, closely tracking users’ workouts and providing recommendations for improvement. It supports a variety of outdoor and indoor activities, including outdoor running, indoor treadmill, outdoor riding, indoor cycling, free training, walking, elliptical trainer, rowing machine and indoor walking

HONOR Band 5 also features a full range of swimming tracking options, and is water resistant up to 50 metres. When swimming, Band 5 tracks the numbers of strokes, speed, distance, intervals and calories burnt, giving users a clear view of their progress. It also tracks a swimmer’s SWOLF score, a combination of stroke count and time spent in the water, to help swimmers improve their technique.

All-in-one notifications and long battery life

Equipped with a 0.95” AMOLED Full Colour touchscreen, the HONOR Band 5 has a screen resolution of 240x 120 pixels at 282 PPI. A single charge provides 14-days of normal usage.

When paired with a smartphone, the HONOR Band 5 also alerts users of incoming calls, SMS, email and SNS notifications. A remote-control function allows users to capture photos from both the rear and front cameras of the phone in a single click. When Bluetooth is activated, users are even able to locate the paired phone via the “Find phone” function.
