Samsung has teased us with remarks about the Galaxy S6’s ‘intelligent camera’

The rumour mill is currently abuzz with information of what may, or may not, be included in the Samsung Galaxy S6 when it’s released later this year. The most recent rumours have been focussed on the device’s camera, and it seems that Samsung isn’t that interested in keeping all that information under wraps.

According to DoonHoon Jang, Samsung’s Senior Vice President and head of Camera R&D Group at IT & Mobile Communications, the phone is going to have an ‘intelligent camera’:

“It will be intelligent and do all the thinking for users, allowing them to take amazing pictures under any conditions, without having to worry about anything more than just pressing the shutter button.”

Jang also seemed to confirm that the S6 will have the same 5MP camera found in the recently announced Galaxy A-Series. Sounds like this whole selfie thing is a trend Samsung really wants to be a part of.

It seems odd that Samsung would deliberately tease us with bits of information about the S6 before the official launch, but hearing the information directly is a heck of a lot better than wondering whether the latest batch of rumours are even remotely close to the truth. Other companies could learn a thing or two about that attitude.

The Galaxy S6 is expected to be unveiled at Samsung’s MWC event on 1st March.
