Fitbit releases Charge HR and Surge wearables in UK, Europe today

Fitbit announced the launch of its three new fitness trackers last year: the Charge, the Charge HR and the Spartan of wearables, the Surge. The Fitbit Charge has been available here in the UK for a few months (check out our review of the Fitbit Charge), but according to the Fitbit team this morning, the Charge HR and the Surge are now available here too. No excuses now, guys!

For those who aren’t clued into what the Fitbit Charge HR and Surge have to offer, the latter as been dubbed a ‘fitness super watch’ and is the ultimate in fitness tracking with built-in GPS, multiple sport modes, a number of smartwatch features and eight different sensors – including a heart rate monitor. The Fitbit Charge HR is a souped up Fitbit Charge with a built-in heart rate monitor, which is still a decent option for fitness fans, but with the Surge on the scene in my opinion it’s best to splash the cash and go for the more capable device.

Gareth Jones, the VP and General Manager for Fitbit, said in a press statement this morning:

‘At Fitbit we know that there’s no one size fits all option in fitness, as consumers have a wide-range of needs and preferences. To that end, we’ve developed these new products to take users from everyday fitness to active and performance sports use. We are excited to introduce Fitbit Charge HR and Fitbit Surge to the European market, providing motivation and encouragement for those who are dedicated to reaching higher levels of performance.’

The Fitbit Charge is shipping across the UK and Europe today and the Surge is available in the UK today and will be shipped in Europe come April.

Buy the Fitbit Charge HR today from Amazon from £119 or go for the Surge from Amazon for £199.
