CES 2015: Lenovo gives the FLEX 3 a YOGA-style hinge

Lenovo announced updates across all its ranges at CES 2015 this week, including its laptops and desktops, as well as its YOGA range, reported earlier.

Our favourite part of Lenovo’s announcements, aside from 3D cameras, was that the FLEX 3 convertible laptops will now include the 360° hinge found on the YOGA, allowing the touch screen to rotate full circle so users can put it in Tablet mode, making it the perfect more replacement for those who can’t afford the YOGA.

The FLEX 3 convertible laptop will come in three sizes, 11-in, 14-in and 15-in, and will offer a full Windows 8.1 Update, as well as up to 5th generation Intel® Core™ i7 processors in the 14-in and 15-in models and up to Pentium processors in the 11-in model. All three models also feature up to 1 TB of storage, as well as an HD 1366×768 screen, along with stereo speakers and Dolby Home Theatre.

Lenovo also revealed a new line of conventional laptops too, with the 13-in Lenovo S31 and 14-in S41, which both run Windows 8.1 Update. Measuring just 19.5mm thin and weighing less than 1.8kg, the Series S line comes with an up to 5th generation Intel Core i7 processor, optional next generation NVIDIA GeForce graphics, storage up to 1 TB SSHD or 256 GB SSD and stereo speakers with Dolby Home Theatre.

Lastly, Lenovo’s C Series AIO desktops are big but affordable. There’s the 19.5-in C20, the 21.5-in C40 and the 23-in C50, and all offer an optional 10-point touch screen in a Full HD 1920 x 1080 edge-to-edge display and Windows 8.1 Update. On top of this, the desktops come with a DVD burner, front-facing speakers, optional next generation NVIDIA GeForce or AMD R5 graphics and WiFi.

Available in Glossy White or Jet Black, these Lenovo desktops also offer up to 4th generation Intel® Core™ i5 processors.

Tom Shell, vice president, Product Group, Lenovo, said: ‘Consumers today want devices that are as unique as they are. That’s why we’ve expanded our range of devices across all platforms – laptops, desktops and tablets. With choice of operating system, mode, form factor and key technologies, users can choose the Lenovo PC that’s perfect for them.’

The Lenovo FLEX 3 will be available in all three sizes beginning in June with models starting at $399, $549 and $579.

The Lenovo U31 and U41 laptops will be available beginning in June with UK pricing to be confirmed.

The Lenovo C40 and C50 all-in-one desktops models start at $429 and $729, respectively. The new C Series will be available in March via Lenovo.
