Fitbit is teaming up with Weight Watchers

Fitness trackers are designed to help you get fitter and see how much activity you’re doing on a daily basis. That’s bound to be incredibly useful for someone who is trying to lose weight, and to make it that bit easier Fitbit has announced that it is teaming up with Weight Watchers.

The main focus of the deal is seamless integration between Fitbit’s and Weight Watchers’ online tools, and all the activity recorded on a Fitbit device will automatically sync with Weight Watchers’ tools and will be converted into Activity ProPoints. Those points can then be exchanged for Food ProPoints at your leisure.

This seamless integration is only available to Weight Watchers Monthly Pass Members and Weight Watchers Online Subscribers, but they’re probably the people who are going to get the most out of it anyway. Having a record of your physical activity alongside a service you already use to monitor your food intake is going to be invaluable for anyone who is trying to lose weight.

Weight Watchers subscribes will also be able to buy Fitbit devices from the Weight Watchers store, or at meetings across the country — meaning they can get their hands on one of Fitbit’s fitness trackers in a way that is convenient to them.
