Netflix now streams in 1080p on the iPhone 6 Plus

The iPhone 6 Plus is the first Apple-made phone to be released with a 1080p resolution display, and users are clearly looking to take advantage of all those extra pixels in any way they can. Netflix subscribers are in luck, because  version 7.0 of its iOS app will let users take advantage of the 6 Plus’s resolution with 1080p streaming.

The only catch is that you might want to get yourself a stable Wi-Fi connection, because a 1080p video is going to eat through your mobile data allowance in no time. Unless you’re lucky enough to have one of those truly unlimited contracts, in which case knock yourself out.

Not only does this mean that iPhone 6 Plus users get to enjoy better picture quality, it also means that the iOS version of Netflix has some parity with the Android version which started pushing out 1080p videos last July.

Of course an update wouldn’t really be a proper update if it only had one thing going for it, and Netflix has made a few adjustments to improve performance and enhance the app’s menu. Those are changes that all iPhone users can enjoy, regardless of the resolution of their phone’s display.
