Amazon is going to deliver to your local Post Office

As if there weren’t enough places to get your Amazon-ordered Christmas presents delivered , the retail giant has announced that customers can now pick up their orders from the local Post Office.

Over 10,500 Post Office locations have been added to Amazon’s Pickup Location Programme. That’s adding to the extensive network of lockers and Collect+ outlets, meaning Amazon has over 16,000 pickup points across the UK. Sure as hell beats having to go to the Post Office depot or wait for a courier right?

That’s rather beneficial for the Post Office, which has expressed concern about how Amazon’s own delivery service would affect the volume of parcels in the UK. Now that the two of them are working together, it means that we’re not going to start ignoring the good ol’ postal service anytime soon.

If you’re an Amazon Prime subscriber getting your parcels delivered to the local branch isn’t going to cost you a penny, if you have opted not to pay £79 a year then choosing a Post Office pickup will cost you the same as First Class delivery to your house.
