The Xperia Z3X looks like an absolute beast, if it’s real

At IFA we were introduced to the Xperia Z3 and the Z3 Compact. At 5.2-inches the Z3 is firmly settled in phablet territory, but it seems Sony may go one step further by releasing a 6.2-inch Xperia Z3X, a mighty impressive phone with some incredibly specs.

We’ve heard about the possibility of a Sony phablet for a while, but most of use assumed that the announcement of the Z3 ended that period. Not so, because benchmark specs for what is believed to be the Z3X appeared on AnTuTu. What might this phone come packing with? A 6.2-inch 1600 x 2560 resolution display, 4GB of RAM, an octa-core 64-bit Snapdragon 810 processor, and a 22MP camera.

That camera is enormous, seriously that thing looks like it should be part of a DSLR rather than a smartphone. With a 22MP sensor it should be quite good, but as we all know resolution isn’t everything. I wonder if it’s designed to compete with the likes of the Lumia 1020?

Benchmark tests can be faked, so we can’t assume that this is real. It would be nice to see, though, even if it’s just to see how good that camera is.
