The LG G Watch R goes on sale in Europe next month

After it made its debut at IFA this year, people couldn’t wait for LG’s first foray into the world of round smartwatches: the G Watch R. Now after a month or so of waiting it has been revealed that the device is going on sale in Europe next month.

We don’t know exactly when the release date will be, but the watch will go on sale in the UK, France, Italy, and Spain. North American and Asian releases will happen soon after. You can preorder the watch from Clove (£225) or Unlocked Mobiles (£230) right now, and while both sites don’t mention when you’ll get the watch they do promise next day delivery.

In case you didn’t know, the G Watch R has a 1.3-inch OLED display with 320 x 320 resolution, a 1.2GHz Snapdragon 400 processor, 512MB of RAM, 4GB of internal storage, and runs on Android Wear. Plus, unlike the Moto 360, the watch utilises the full round display, rather than cutting off the bottom of the screen.

At that price it is significantly more than the Moto 360, its biggest rival, which will cost £199. Considering many of the mainstream retail outlets haven’t yet announced they will be carrying the watch, it’s more than likely that the prices from Clove and Unlocked Mobiles will be reduced somewhat. By how much is unknown, but there is a chance.
