The OnePlus One sequel could be released in mid-2015

The OnePlus One showed that a phone needn’t have terrible specs for it to be a reasonable price. That and the fact that it was almost impossible to get hold of one meant that it generated quite a bit of buzz in the tech circles. It’s hardly surprising that another one is on the way.

in an AMAA on Reddit, Carl and David of OnePlus One answered a series of questions about the future of the device and revealed that the sequel to the OnePlus One should be released in Q2 or Q3 of 2015, it may include Android L, and a smaller version of the phone is being considered.

That’s a fair bit of forward thinking to have when the original phone hasn’t even been made widely available yet, but it’s good to know that the OnePlus One isn’t just a one off. Hopefully we’ll end up seeing a lot more high-specced budget smartphones in the future.

If you want to get your hands on the original, the OnePlus One pre-order programme is expected to be open by the end of October.
