Motorola is opening a UK based store to sell you the Moto G

Despite Motorola being an incredibly popular phone brand in this country, with countless models on sale here over the decades, Motorola has never really bothered with the whole ‘selling to the customer directly’ thing that all the other phone companies do. That’s about to change, however, as Motorola is finally ready to start selling phones to the consumer instead of sending them to third-part retailers.

Starting today, you’ll be able to pre-order the newest version of the Moto G, and you’ll be able to order the Moto 360 and the new Moto X very soon. It’ll cost you £5 more than buying the phone from Amazon, but Amazon has noted that it could take 1-3 weeks for the phone to reach your front door if you order from them. Sadly Motorola hasn’t specified how long its shipping will take.

But that’s not all. Motorola has also announced that it’s famed ‘Moto Maker’ is ready to go live later this month. This means that UK customers will finally be able customise the look of their phones when they buy from Motorola directly. This service only seems to be available if you buy the Moto X, rather than the Moto G, but it’s still exciting that you can customise the look of Motrola’s flagship without having to resort to third-party cases.
