Details for the HTC One M8 Max phablet leak

We all know that HTC is going to be responsible for the Nexus 9 (or we think we do), but it looks like its not avoiding other things because details of a new HTC-made phablet have leaked: The HTC One M8 Max.

According to reports from Chinese site My Drivers,  the device will come with 3GB of RAM, a 2.7GHz quad-core Snapdragon 805 processor, a 5.5-inch QHD display, an 18MP camera with OIS, and a 3,000 mAh battery.

It makes sense that HTC would be releasing a larger version of its flagship soon, this time last year we saw the original HTC One Max and we’ve been hearing rumours for a while about a larger version of the One M8 — referred to as the HTC One M8 Prime.

What else the phablet will come with is unknown. Presumably it will come with Android L and HTC Sense 6 (or a newer version), and hopefully it’ll come with the One M8’s Duo Camera. The fact that it has OIS indicates that Ultrapixel tech may be absent, which seems strange but rumours of the One M8 Eye also indicate the same thing. Maybe HTC is giving up on the tech in favour of something more traditional? Who knows.

We don’t know any details about the M8 Max’s release date yet, but we might hear something at HTC’s ‘double exposure’ event next month.
