Apple Watch porn: Our six favourite, most stylish versions of Apple’s wearable

Yesterday Apple launched its first wearable device: Apple Watch. It’s a fully-customisable, super device that allows you to send your heartbeat to your mates, answer calls, read messages, track your health and fitness activity and so much more.

But you know what else makes it stand out? The fact it looks… well… kinda beautiful, right?

The great thing about the Apple Watch is that it doesn’t just come in one run-of-the-mill colour or shape or even size. When you’re choosing your Apple Watch you can decide if you want it to have a small or larger face, the metal you’d like it to be made from, including rose gold and space grey aluminium, the strap it comes with, the way the face looks and whether you want to opt for a tough Watch Sport or fancy Watch Edition model instead.

Luckily we’ve all got until 2015 to make our choices, but until then swoon over our pick of the top five Apple Watch designs:

1. The best for fashionistas

First up we’ve got the Apple Watch Edition in a 38mm case with a red leather strap and an 18-carat yellow gold finish. If you’re looking for a swanky version of the Apple Watch, then you really need to get your hands on an Apple Watch Edition version. For a more subtle look opt for a black strap, but we think the red goes really well with the gold finish and minimal black face on this mock up from Apple.

2. The best for sport

If you’re anything like me, you like your workouts to be as easy, fun and comfortable as possible, so if you’re getting an Apple Watch to be your workout BFF make sure it’s got a comfy strap and will fit in with the rest of your running gear. We love this version that’s durable and versatile but doesn’t scream: I’M A FITNESS TRACKER. It’s the Watch Sport version in white with a sports strap, aluminium finish and slightly smaller display.

3. The best for suited and booted men

Yep, we know. It’s ridiculous to divide these watches up based on gender because the beauty of them all is they’re just so magically unisex. However, if you’re looking to get one as a gift for your boyfriend, husband, dad or mate, then we think this version is the best.

It combines the sleek look of the Apple Watch with the formal style we’re so used to seeing from more traditional, high-end timepieces. If you’re keen to get your hands on one of these, it’s the Apple Watch Edition with a black sports band, 18-carat yellow gold design and 42mm case. Of course if you wanted to go even more formal, you should really team it with a link bracelet strap, but we think the sportsband is much more modern and versatile.

4. The best for teens

Just as teens we all flocked for the brightest version of the iPod, we’re guessing that the next generation of younger gadget-lovers will want an eye-popping shade if they’re lucky enough to afford an Apple Watch. This pink fluro Watch Sport edition is ideal, and because it’s the sport version it’s extra durable.

5. The best for a luxurious gadget

Sure most of the designs could be described as fairly ‘luxurious’ in comparison to most other smart watches on the market nowadays, but if you want an Apple Watch that also looks like a pretty decadent piece of jewellery at the same time, then opt for the Apple Watch Edition with a white strap and 18-carat rose gold finish. Oh dahhh-ling!

6. The best for people who don’t want a smartwatch

There are bound to be people who either want a smartwatch but don’t want it to look like they’re wearing one or others who are convinced their mum/dad/grandad/brother should get a smartwatch but they’re being awkward neo-luddites about the whole thing. This version is your answer. It has a very traditional-looking strap and a simple brushed metal finish that’ll help you masquerade the gadget.
