Apple launches a tool that removes U2 from your iTunes library

Despite the fact that Apple has been giving away U2’s latest album absolutely free, a lot of people have been irritated by the fact that they don’t have a choice in the matter, and the album just downloads itself clogging up their iTunes libraries. Well Apple has heard your plight, and has now offered a tool to easily remove the album once and for all.

All you have to do is go here and Apple will give you the option of removing ‘Songs of Innocence’ permanently. They really mean permanently as well, once you’ve removed it you no longer have the option to download it again. Apple is generous, but it’s not that generous.

If you do change your mind, you’ll have to wait until the album goes on general release on October 13th. Or torrent it, whatever floats your boat.

That’s great news if you’re an Apple user who really hates U2 or you just think the album is an overrated mess. It’s all well and good having the option of free music, but it’s a totally different story if it’s just forced on you without your approval and continues to hang around like your annoying little brother.
