Android L could arrive on the Galaxy S5 and Note 4 in November

Android L was first announced back in June at the Google I/O, and we haven’t heard massive amounts of key information since then. More importantly we still don’t know exactly when it’s going to be released, even though various rumours have indicated strong possibilities. While we still don’t know a definite general release date, SamMobile claims that we could see the update come to the Galaxy S5 and Galaxy Note 4 some time in November or early December.

While that might seem like a long time to wait, it’s worth pointing out that it’s incredibly unlikely for the Samsung skin of the software to be released before Google’s own ‘official’ version. So a November release for the Samsung version seems to tie in with the rumours that Google will be releasing Nexus devices preloaded with Android L at the end of October.

It may be a little bit late to try and compete with the recently released iOS 8, but with reports indicating that iOS 8 is facing fairly low adoption rates by users, a successful launch of Android L could be a welcome boost to both Google and Samsung.

Of course this is a rumour, so we’ll just have to wait and see what happens. In any case the Galaxy Note 4 is set for released on October 10th if you don’t care about having Android L on the device when you buy it.
