Amazon’s Fire Phone is coming to the UK this month, will be an O2 exclusive

Amazon’s Fire Phone has been out in the US for a couple of months, and now it’s been revealed that it’ll be available in the UK later this month exclusively on O2. Originally speculated in the Financial Times, and Gizmodo UK claims to have had the news confirmed by a trusted source.

In case you didn’t know, the Fire Phone comes with front facing cameras that are used to track the users face, and has a screen that showcases a 3D depth effect.

There’s no word on an exact release date, or even how much the phone will end up costing, but it’s nice to see that Amazon isn’t stupid enough to deliberately prevent sales by making its first phone a geographical exclusive. Let’s just hope making it available over here pays off, because reports indicate that the phone has not been selling all that well in the States. [Gizmodo UK]
