Sorry, THAT Ryan Gosling Father’s Day Facebook post was fake!

A fake Father’s Day Facebook post from “Ryan Gosling” detailing how he adopted an orphaned baby for a year has attracted Likes from almost one million users, and we’re ashamed to say we were also fooled. In our defence, it’s Ryan Gosling.

The story provoked reactions from women (and men) all over the world, exclaiming things like ‘My ovaries just exploded’ and ‘I didn’t think I could love him any more’, who, along with us, believed that Ryan Gosling concealing a baby from the world for an entire year was plausible.

Along with a picture of Ryan Gosling holding a baby, the post read: “This little guy was only 9 months old when I became his dad. His mom and I were great friends before she passed away from cancer. I promised her, I’d always look after him. So, I had decided to step up and become his dad. He brought me so much joy. He was my everything. 1 year later after the adoption, his biological father wanted him. Of course, I put up a fight, but he won. That 1 year of being his father taught me how to love unconditionally. We have to stop and be thankful for our children and children should stop and be thankful for their parents. What I truly learned most of all is, every child needs love. Save thousands of children and meet me while doing it.”

Over 920,000 people have now liked the post, even though, as other publications have pointed out, there is a link to meeting Ryan Gosling, which just leads to an ugly t-shirt on sale. We now see the error of our ways, and realise our common sense was just overshadowed by adoration for Ryan Gosling’s beauty.
