Toshiba unveils trio of Excite tablets – coming to UK in July

Toshiba-Excite-Write-01.JPGToshiba has taken the wraps of its new range of tablet PCs today and come up with a few surprises. There are three new models all of which bear the Excite moniker and boast 10.1-inch, 1280 x 800 displays. There’s a budget version the Excite Pure, a top-end model the Excite Write which comes with a stylus and a similarly specced cheaper model without the pen – the Excite Pro.

All three go on sale in the UK in later June and early July and are PC World Curry’s exclusives.

On then to the specific models.

The Excite Pure runs Android 4.2 and is powered by a Tegra 3 processor, packs a three megapixel front camera and a 1.2Mp front facing webcam. Tosh is targeting this one at basic tablet buyers casual gamers etc and it comes with a price tag of £249.

Shell out £349 for the Excite Pro and you get a faster Tegra 4 processor, a higher resolution 2560 x 1600 processor, more RAM and storage and and eight mega pixel camera.

Then at the top-end the £499 Excite Write is similar to the Pro but also comes with Wacom-made digitizer and of course ,loads of software to help you do creative things.

All three come with decent sounding speakers and optional Bluetooth keyboard.
