Sony has added two new pocket HD camcorders to its Bloggie rance, the Bloggie Live and Bloggie Sport. Both look to add interesting and instantaneous new functionality to the original Bloggie idea, the Live offers HD video capture, 12.8 MP still shooting and, most interestingly, the ability to live stream whatever you’re recording over Wi-Fi.
A built in Wi-Fi chip works alongside Qik video to push the video into cyberspace, storing one HD copy of the recording locally on the camera, and another on the Qik website. The livestream supports a commenting system too, meaning viewers live comments can be viewed on the camera’s 3 inch touchscreen. The camera can also publish directly to the likes of YouTube and Facebook.
We got the chance to have a hands-on session with the Bloggie Live and one of the Sony product team spoke through its key features.
