In the last few weeks it seems as though all the major publishers have been renewing their stakes in the iPad. The FT announced they would be reimbursing staff who purchased an iPad, the Economist launched their iPad app and now News Corp and Apple are set to launch a new digital newspaper, The Daily.

The Daily will be available exclusively on the iPad and is expected to launch later this month costing 99¢ or 62p a week. Both Murdoch and Jobs are hoping that the iPaper will be game changer for digital publishing, and help find some way for papers to survive following falling physical paper sales and the Times failed attempt to create a paywall.

There will be no website based versions of the US focused paper and Jesse Angelo, managing editor of The New York Post is expected to become the editor. The paper is said to have “a tabloid sensibility with a broadsheet intelligence”
