RoundTrip watch by TokyoFlash has us going crazy for its circles of colourful cells

Kooky Japanese watch-makers TokyoFlash have created another of the abstract art watches they are famous for. The Round Trip is, well round, and slightly more conventional than some of their other watches – like the one that was based on traffic flow for example.

All their beautiful but weird watches look they like require a degree in physics to read, but TokyoFlash claim that understanding this one is a breeze once you get used to it..

“Vivid green, blue and orange cells will illuminate the screen to show the time. Once mastered, you’ll be able to read Round Trip at a glance…. Hours are displayed in the inner ring in orange, in the same position as hours on a clock face. Minutes are displayed in the outer ring in blue in three minute intervals in the same position as minutes on a clock face. Green LEDs show two single minutes at the bottom of the display…”

No recommended for the epileptic, or people who get headaches easily, but we like it.

Round Trip is 15,900 Japanese yen ($169, €141, £121) including delivery, and this limited edition watch is available exclusively from www.tokyoflash.com.
