The infinite USB plug

A Chinese design student has solved the eternal not-enough-USB ports problem in one fell swoop. The solution is more than just a USB hub, it’s an infinite USB plug, that in theory lets you plug in as many USB devices as you can fit on the desk.

Getting enough power for all of them while not zonking out your computer’s cooling system could be the problem, but hey, kudos to this student for thinking outside the box.

Sadly only a concept, we hope someone’s going to pick this up and start manufacturing.

  • Backup depends both on the software and the hardware used. Backups are frequently made from hard disk based production systems. Before deciding on a backup system, the way in which the system is used and the connections required must be thought of. This will help to identify the most suitable match. There are several types of external data backup devices. Auxiliary hard drives are available in both internal and external versions. Prices have come down over the years as storage capacity has considerably increased.

  • My ipods, first and fourth generation- when I connect them, it tells me that they are corrupt and that I may need to restore them. I tried this and it just kept coming back. I went to My Computer to open it. It told me to format the ipod which I did. The only thing that happened was that it erased the music and continued to be “corrupted.” I tried them both on another computer. Worked just fine…

  • If not, is there a USB “A/B” switch-box, or another way?

We have 2 computers and 1 “USB Only” printer and we’re constantly moving the USB plug from one computer to the other for printing.

  • So far the only things that work are the printer connecter and the wireless mouse connecter which both plug into the USB ports.

The things that DON’T work are…

My flash drives won’t open. I formated one too, but it still didn’t open.

Finally, I can’t get it to open my files on my camera’s memory. It recognized it when I installed the new program for it, but it only needed to recognize it once and then it was safe to unplug. It said all three drives were taken on My Computer, but I couldn’t open any without formatting… and from previous experience I know that just erases it all and doesn’t help.
