XBox Live hackers for hire

XBox Live players: play fair. Don’t you remember what you were taught at school? If someone beats you fair and square, it’s considered bad form to then hire a hacker to attack your opponent and get them kicked off the system. It’s also a sure sign you need to take a walk and get a bit of perspective.

Apparently there’s been a massive increase in exactly that activity, with hackers targeting specific IP addresses and flooding them with data, effectively performing a Denial of Service attack normally used against websites. Whilst you’ve got to admire the entrepreneurial spirit of the hackers, it is a rather depressing story for the wider gaming world.
