CES 2009: Asus launches thin, light and damn pretty S121

CES_8847.JPG
Asus kicks off things here at CES, with the balls to hold a press conference the day before the press preview day, and in fact, the day before the majority of tech journalists arrive here in Vegas. Sucks to be them. They’ve had a great 2008, full of awards, innovation and impressive looking growth bar charts. Thank you eeePC.

The first launch is the S121, an upgrade to the existing S101. This one boasts the largest SSD around – 512GB. It weighs just three pounds, and is just 0.9-inches thick. There’s a massive eight hours of battety life, an Intel atom processor, making it one hot buy. There’s a similar looking chassis, although the brown looks slightly darker than the bronze of the S101. No word on whether they’re going to stick with the diamante detailing at the end of the hinges… No word on pricing or availability at this point.

There’s no word on prici
