The Pico-C USB drive is pure gold

King Midas found out the hard way that having the touch of gold wasn’t all it was cracked up to be, and regrettably transformed his daughter into a statue. Thankfully you don’t have to make a deal with god Dionysus to have the golden touch and bag yourself some gold gadgetry. Instead you can direct your attention to the Golden PC, and if you’re going for gold you may as well go the whole hog and ply it with gold accessories too. An 18-carat 8GB solid gold USB stick on a keychain sounds about perfect.

At $599 USD, the Pico-C USB drive is a little more than our average and mundane USB stick, but it is solid gold so was never going to be on the same level as the novelty peripherals we love and sometimes hate. So what do you get for your money other than something you could buy at a bargain basement price? It’s water resistant (you know, just in case), it supports up to 30MB/s transfer speeds, comes with a serialized certificate of authenticity that comes all encased in a black velvet jewelry box?

The words unnecessarily and extravagant spring to mind. You won’t be leaving this one around that’s for sure.
