Pure Evoke Mio brings bright colours to DAB/FM radios

Pure_mio.JPG

A DAB/FM radio’s not very exciting no matter what fun features you pack it out with. Does the injection of bright and bold colours make this breed of radio any more exciting – well, no not really, but it definitely helps. More importantly, does the inclusion of a few chillies in the product image make it any more appealing? Is it wrong that my answer is ‘hell yeah’? That’s presumably the motive behind Pure’s Evoke Mio with its chilli, chocolate, moss, candy and midnight hues (moss sounds really attractive), with a two-tone leather and cream suede effect finish.

The design’s been taken from the popular Evoke-1S, only the Mio comes with added radio goodness. This added radio goodness includes a rechargeable battery for portability and 24 hours of battery life per charge, audio input for you iPod or MP3 player and an OLED display with automatic and manual brightness controls. It also has Intellitext and textSCAN for pausing, controlling the scrolling text, storing information, alarm and kitchen timer functions and 30 preset modes.

Lastly, the Mio is part of Pure’s EcoPlus range and is the eighth Pure radio to receive an Energy Saving Recommended accreditation from the Energy Saving Trust. This means it meets strict energy efficiency criteria, it’s kind the environment, is cheaper to run and gives a firm nod to being green.

It’ll be available just in time for Christmas for £149.99 from Pure.
