Huzzah! Another ASUS product to diversify their increasingly diverse product line (I'm not sure why I resent them launching things other than the original eeePC, but for some reason, I *really* do). This is the official launch of the Eee Stick, a motion based controller for PC games.

They say "it translates users´ physical hand motions into corresponding movements onscreen". We say "Wii". It's going to bundled with the Eee PC as well as the Eee Box, which is a million miles away from what I thought you were actually supposed to use the Eee PC for.

We've oohed and ahhed over Mimobots at Shiny, craving their cute chunky bodies and colourful casing, but now we can help the environment at the same time. Seriously.

They've decided to team up their Treeson bot with their Mimoco's GreenBot USB Flash Drive Recycling Program. They'll collect old or defective USB drives, Mimobots or otherwise, and give you a Mimobot discount in exchange. The Treeson bots have a capacity of up to 8GB and come preloaded with exclusive digital content, from wallpapers to music.

Beijing_olympics_webcam-300x225.jpgIt's more than likely you were never going to fly out to Beijing for the Olympics (especially as only 25 percent of the tickets were available to the rest of the world). This might make up for it in a *very* small way, or simply serve to commemorate the beginning of this wonderful sports tournament. Even though it looks like a cheap piece of plastic tat (or a McDonald's toy, which arguably is the same thing), it's a webcam. The webcam features a 1.3 megapixel camera with LED lights in each of the rings. Bad news Mac users - it's not compatible with your machinery, so you'll be missing out on this remarkable piece of webcam machinery.

usb_chinese_bbq_2.jpgThese Chinese BBQ USB drives practically look like the real thing - a *very* unsettling thought. Choose from an assortment of flavours - chicken wing, drum stick and BBQ pork and add some flavour to your PC. They might make your taste buds water just a bit, even more so if you happen to be working on an empty stomach. Just remember not to take a bite out of it if you treasure your teeth.

To get your own food themed USB stick visit Brando - $28 USD each.

sony_ereader.jpgE-books - they've never really taken off here in the UK, but Sony is hoping to convert a whole nation with the launch of the Sony Reader. It's partnered with Waterstones to sell the content, with each reader able to hold up to 160 books, although this is expandable with SD or Sony's Memory Stick Duo. The device will also display images and play music files. Battery-wise, you're looking at 6,800 'page turns' (enough to read War and Peace five times).

Pre-orders for the device are being taken from today, but the units themselves won't be available until September. Sony promises that at the actual launch, over 10,000 titles will be available, but will it convert the bookworms amongst us?

C3P0_mimobot.jpgStar Wars and Mimobot fans have been trying to guess the identity of the fourth Star Wars Mimobot series 3 character for *ages*. Well the guessing game is finally over. *Drum roll* C-3PO has been revealed as the fourth Star Wars Mimobot character (and therefore the last) to join the likes of Wicket, the scary looking Darth Sidious and the Emperor's Royal Guard. Who doesn't love Luke Skywalker's golden protocol droid and his fussy and worry-prone personality?

I'm a little tired with just how many variants of USB drive there are nowadays. Full out bling? Check. Looks like confectionery? Got that. Seasonally themed? OK. The only reason this particular key has made the hit list is because of the very impressive amount of storage it come with. 8GB! Enough to store a couple of movies and pictures on methinks. It weighs in at a mere 25g so it won't weigh down your pocket, and will look cute with your keys.

Portable laptop speakers spa5200_00__fp_.jpg

The problem with travel speakers is that they tend to require lots of excess wires that get tangled, and by the time you've unwound them you're to stressed to use them. Philips have anticipated this problem and created a fab pair of clip on speakers, which affix to the side of your screen. They're easy to remove and carry, and connect to a USB port which is convenient. They come in their own travel pouch and both pump out 1 watt of sound.

£39.99 from Philips sometime soon.

I <3 Mimobots. I love how they look. I love the packaging they come in. I love the added extras they come loaded with. I get the feeling a few of you out there might feel the same, so I thought I'd share the love with my very favourite Mimobots available now. For the full range, you can check out their site here. Now a vast majority of my friends live overseas *sob* and phone calls just don't make up for one on one contact. Unless I get a significant pay rise (hint) I won't be jetting over to the States every weekend, so I'm hoping this HD quality camera will help us reconnect.

It has a wide angles lens which fits more than one person in the frame, which is great for group calls. The webcam has 1.3 megapixels for video, and takes 90 frames per second for flicker free images. It also has two digital directional microphones with speech processing for super sharp audio.

BT_homehub.jpg
BT has launched the latest of their Home Hubs, and promise better wireless coverage than ever, even in that spot in your house you've never managed to get a signal before. That's thanks to the 802.11n technology, which BT are the first of the broadband suppliers to offer.

This is all very well, but I'm instantly distracted by the fact that it's positively pretty. Seriously. This is a good looking router!

Croissant_wrist_rest.JPGYes, it's a wrist rest shaped liked a croissant - genius. The croissant wrist rest looks so good, there's a good chance you might be tempted to take a nibble out of it when hunger strikes - especially when you get a whiff of its bread-y aroma. If you do, of course you'll probably be sick for the next few days - it's not real. Saying that, you might find yourself developing an addiction (if you haven't already) to the flaky treat by having it constantly perched on your desk.

Fans of the flaky, crescent shaped croissant will love its soft fluffy texture that'll provide you with the computing comfort you desire. It'll probably get you thinking about food more often than you'd like to as well.

USB_iPod.jpgThis is good way to get in on the biggest electronic craze of the century, otherwise known as the iPod trend - especially if you don't already own the infamous device. Look at this cute and cuddly little thing, with its delightful soft silicon faux iPod exterior and satisfied expression. It looks more than happy to hold all your files, data, music and images on its 1GB or 2GB Flash memory.

With so many cleverly designed USB peripherals to choose from, you may as well go for the fun and loveable option. Look at its face, it's practically begging you to buy it - and it's cheaper than the real thing.

usb_crunching_dog.jpg
Oh, how we laughed at the humping USB dog! Laughed, and laughed, and then kicked the owner in the shins, poked them in the eye and ran away. Such was the hilarity of the USB humping dog. Never one to let a sleeping dog lie (I hate myself right now), there's a humping dog 2.0, and this time, he's fit.

This version features freaky dogs with six packs, who will do stomach crunches against your USB input. It doesn't have any internal storage, it doesn't look cool and it will be a best seller by tomorrow. The internet is a scary place.

Office-friendly PC gaming chair

pc_gaming_chair.jpg
The thing about most gaming chairs is that they tend to look like the kind of things that would go in 'dens'. And being terribly British, I don't have a den, nor do I know anyone who has a den. Sadly I don't live in The Wonder Years (God I wish I did. I love me some Fred Savage).

This one, however, looks like you could sneak it into the elevator at work, before the boss gets in, and replace your boring ergonomically-designed-but-still-kind-of-sucky desk chair. You could then have surround sound alerts every time you get an email (bing!), a calendar appointment (bong!) or ask your computer to do something it's not happy with (duh-duh-dum!). Or, you could use it as a gaming chair for your PC games. Whatever floats your boat.

ladybird_usbhub.jpg
How many things would you like a computer peripheral disguised as a lady bird to do? Two? Three, for the more demanding customer? This ladybird does them all, and more. Featuring a Micro SD card reader, a flash drive, a 5 pin data cable, a USB charger and (somewhat randomly) a UV counterfeit money detector - it's gratuitously feature packed.

It's also somewhat menacing in design, a little reminiscent of the mechanical insect in the Golden Compass. You get the feeling that having one of these on your side would mean you hold the Power of the Ladybird, and that facing an opponent with one would put you at an instant disadvantage. At least if you're in the business of money laundering.

Robotic USB key will never be human

robot_usb.jpg
This USB drive has inspired feelings of melancholy in me that no other computer peripheral has ever inspired. Look at the robot - he looks like he's clasping his head in his hands, at a complete loss to understand these humans who keep behaving in ways that defy common sense and logic. He knows he'll never feel joy, pain, sadness or fear, and whilst he knows that makes scientific sense, he can't help but feel some inexplicable gap as a result.

*sob* (But isn't it pretty!)

Cupholder.jpgThe vast majority of people insist on using their cars as mobile offices and always attempt to get a few bits and pieces done on the journey to and from work. While this can prove to be quite dangerous (as your hands definitely won't be on ten and two the whole time), Targus has created the 100W Cupholder Style Auto Power Inverter to help you on your way. It looks like a cup, but it's not actually a cup.

The Targus 100W Cupholder Style Auto Power Inverter sits comfortably in your cupholder and powers your gadgets with 100 to 150 watts through the 120-volt AC plug. For added convenience, it also has USB and PPS ports for your phone, MP3 player and all your other handheld gadgets.

Isn't it frustrating when you don't know where there's a wireless connection? I mean sure, you can turn your laptop on and stagger around the room, waiting for the button to go green, or you can use this handy device to save you some stress. This portable device has 4 LED lights which light up to show you the wireless signal strength, and is an easy way to know where you should set up shop.
