The Coach laptop bag that could hold your life

coach laptop bag.jpg

Now the Coach brand is quite a big deal in the US, but relatively unheard of int he UK. Since I'm travelling I have time to peruse their collection and have fallen a little bit in love with this bag. It may be plaid but it's so purdy! And it has a ridiculous amount of storage, we're talking two outside zipped pockets, inside mobile phone pockets plus a diaper changing pad (hmm) and the option of wearing it across the body or on your shoulders. I love the use of their signature jacquard fabric, and you can even get a matching makeup bag if you wish!

This is a bag for all your crap first, and a laptop bag second. The laptop fits in a front pocket, making it easy to whip out when you're in airport security lines, when you're being mugged or just when you urgently need to get on the internet.

The fabric used is cotton (make it in a soft calves leather and I'll give you my credit card details stat) and there are four inner pockets for more gadgetry. The various compartments are also lined with a waterproof lining, so although it's not advisable to go swimming with it, a bit of rain won't hurt it.

Hello Kitty keeps your computer safe

Hello Kitty computer case.jpg

Omigod! I think I quite like this Hello Kitty laptop case. Sure, it doesn't scream 'business woman with important meetings', but there's no hint of 'I like lollipops and Just 17' either. It seems the brand is now catering to style conscious twenty somethings, as I'd be quite happy to tote this around. Now I just have to assimilate that I've written these words of praise.

Radley Bag john lewis.jpg

I know a couple of people who would go absolutely doolally over this bag. It may not be the most fashion forward item you'll ever own, but its sleek simple lines, double seamed stitching and padded partitions will mean it will be a staple for years to come. I like the contrast yellow piping and the little yellow dog is sweet. If you're a Radley fan, this is definitely the bag for you.

Ecoist produce recycled retro bags

Ecoist lap bag.jpg

Help the environment and look cool at the same time? Well you're not going to complain now are you? These funky looking laptop bags are created from recycled movie billboards. Every one is a little bit different, meaning you get a unique hand-made bag, which will keep your laptop snug all day long.

They're created in fair trade co-operatives abroad, and the proceeds from the bag go to helping underprivileged communities. I love the retro feel of the bag, and hope they'll have a movie poster that fits my personality. I think I'm an Ocean's Eleven kind of girl, don't you?

istik-nano-yoga.jpgI'm going to go out on a limb here and state unequivocally that everyone loves magnets. Advancing technology may make us less than impressed with yesterday's gadgets, but magnets continue to enthral us with their apparent use of voodoo (or "science, if you must), something that these iStik iPod cases capitalise on to great effect. What would surely have been an iPod case fit only for the very nerdiest of nerdlingers had it incorporated - say - poppers, is suddenly rendered attractive to me thanks to the admirable application of magnets, which you use to attach the iPod to your clothes, freeing up your limbs for a spot of beach-based yogic activity.

gela_skins_300x225.jpgSince the release of that highly coveted handset (iPhone 3G to those who've been living under a rock for the past month), the amount of cases and skins being thrown our way is practically unbearable. The majority of them are identical, bar the name of the manufacturer slapped onto its outer body somewhere. That's what makes GelaSkins a cut above the rest. For a start they're not plain and ordinary so it's unlikely you'll come across someone sporting the same skin as you. And most important of all they're for a range of devices, not to mention absolutely stunning.

Yes, another new laptop bag for you to feast your eyes on. This one is a combination of nylon and leather and is designed to look like an over-sized handbag. OK, this is nothing new, but I rather like the red and black flower design. It has two useful front pockets to keep your bits and bobs in, and a roomy inside pocket, with enough space for chargers and files. It's only going to be available for a limited amount of time, so you better hurry.

Personally, I never use phone cases. It takes me enough time scrabbling around the bottom of my bag to find my mobile, let alone extracting it before the private number rings off. Still, this designer version might make me rethink my stance, as its colourful curves and cute PVC case looks ever so stylish. You can wear it around your wrist with a handy strap and it has a magnetic closure. I'm a big fan of Betsey's designs so I might just have to get this.

Now this is what I call a stylish laptop bag. Sleek and seductive in gray plaid, it's a working bag for the lady who lunches. It is entitled Fulham after all, so all those Sloane rangers are sure to fawn over it. It could easily make the transition from boardroom to bar and it has plentiful inner pockets There's a holder for your mobile, a padded area for your laptop and even a pen holder! The laptop bag that laughs at knife crime

knide laptop bag vliegervandam.jpg

Boris Johnson has been very vocal about wanting to stamp down on knife crime, so I'm not sure he'd take to well to these Guardian Angel Laptop bags. Not only do they keep your laptop safe, but they give off a very clear 'Don't mess with me' vibe. I think that has something to do with the thick outline of a sizeable chopping knife peeking through the leather and woolfelt material!

I don't know what it is about knives, but one glance at the outline and you'd stop being a worthy laptop toting workaholic and become a menacing Scream like figure, capable of wreaking havoc online. This would probably be a great bag for hackers if they could stand the subtlety! It's available in a variety of colours, and there's even a gun option, if you like your weapons more modern.

Shiny gallery: Top Ten laptop bags

The world has changed a lot in the last ten years, with laptops getting smaller, lighter, and ever so beautiful (hello MacBook Air) and finding a way to carry them is easier than ever before. You don't need to go for a nylon black option to cart your precious around in, as you can find bags in all colours of the rainbow, from handbag style to messenger bags. Go ahead and click the picture below to see the top ten bags I've found!

iPod_Nano_Kuma_case.JPGThe company behind the Zoowear Kuma case, wants you to transform your Nano into a cute (that's questionable) pink bear/creature using this silicon case. There's nothing particular about the Kuma case, other than it's pink, it looks a bit childish and it's been designed to look like some kind of animal - I'm going to go with bear.

The only obviously good thing about it, other than its friendly-ish design (if you're into that kind of thing), is that it provides cable storage so you can can conceal annoying wires at the rear, which more importantly means no tangled wire moments will be taking place.

voodoo_envy_packaging.jpg

The Voodoo hasn't been as hyped up as the MacBook Air, however, HP are still as determined as ever to make it ooze mass appeal. Just check out its packaging with its grey and orange color scheme. This is proof that HPs excellent effort with the Envy also extends to its packaging as well. Looking rather like a chocolate-y box of treats, the Voodoo Envy's unique packaging includes a micro-fibre sleeve with the laptop to add some pass the parcel elements to your unboxing moment.

Checkthrough_laptop bag_2.jpg

It looks like a bog-standard lappy bag, but in actual fact it's an incredibly practical and convenient laptop bag, designed for absolute airport check-in straightforwardness. The people behind the Checkthrough laptop bag must really have a personal detestation for having to remove your laptop for the sake of an x-ray, and they're not alone there. The purpose of this bag is rather obvious now. Skooba Design has designed it so the bag can be screened without having to carry out the immensely irritating task of extracting your precious cargo from its padded lair.

Blue Ostrich.jpgToting around your laptop is a chore. No matter how much you pretend a laptop bag can answer your woes, it just ends up being bulky and annoying. A sleeve seems like a great alternative, and if you carry this seasons hottest over-sized bags, you can just slide it inside. I love this offering from 21st Century Diva, as it's made from real leather and embossed with little ostrich like prints. It fits computers up to 13.3 inches, and is suede lined to keep your baby comfy.

traffic signs.jpgThe world as well as Shiny Towers has gone recycling crazy. We're constantly being reminded to recycle our rubbish and with those pesky councils dictating how much rubbish we throw into our black wheelie bins, it's nice to see our efforts aren't going to waste.

Your style literally comes from the streets with the High Traffic Gadget Case. Made from salvaged traffic signs, the case is designed to hold your beloved gadgetry and keep it safe with its lock and key.

Knomo_laptop_bag.JPGShow your laptop some love. Treat it to something pretty and hopefully in return it'll stop freezing on you, Blue Screen of Deathing on you and participating in a go slow movement. These bags might be just the answer - they have been styled to fit around your lifestyle, hence why they look so damn good. As well as being a very nice range of handbags, they're not conspicuous laptop bags, so you're not going to look like The Girl Who's Just Come From a Meeting.

The range is made-up of mock-croc leather bags, earthly palettes and canvas panelling, giving a firm nod to safari chic which has been dominating the catwalks recently.

bio_infectious_bag_green.jpg

There's something pretty grotty about the Bio Infectious laptop sleeve , which could be where its charm lies. With looks like these, it wouldn't automatically trigger in a thief's mind that underneath that nasty exterior is actually an expensive piece of kit, unless they take a real close look at the bit of text at the bottom that reads 'Content on this laptop could cause severe damage'. So perhaps it'll be just the unintelligent thieves who'll see the laptop sleeve from a distance and come over all panic-stricken, thinking it really is contagious. Serves them right.

Live_luggage.jpgThis isn't your ordinary run-of-the-mill wheeled suitcase - this is the battery powered suitcase from LiveLuggage. Now there are two ways you could look at this motorised case. Firstly, it can be viewed as being a lazy person's tool, so owners might find themselves being heckled in public for being unspeakably lethargic. Another way to look at it, could be to perceive it as a thing of genius, that is simply designed to assist people with their heavy, duty-free and souvenir filled suitcases on a long journey. Where do I sign up?

A single charge of its 12-volt NiMh battery gives you 1.5 miles of *unassisted* bag hauling of up to 36kg, while you do all the things you've dreamed about doing on previous journeys but never had the chance to do as you were lugging around a suitcase (like check your messages and your emails while eating a packet of crisps).
