Think Orla Kiely and what comes to mind is probably her distinctive prints for the kitchen or maybe her handbags and accessories ranges. However, the Ireland born designer has worked with a car manufacturer before (Citroen) and has now partnered with  retailer Halfords on a new bike and leisure range.

Called Olive and Orange (Olive is the name of her Labradoodle apparently), the line up comprises a total of 33 different products. However, certainly the most eye catching are the stylish bikes, pictured above, which include the Green Wiggle Stem Print Hybrid (£429) and Blue Olive Print Hybrid (£479).

Combining retro styling with contemporary colours, we think they look great – particularly the leather saddles. But that’s not all. If you want the complete Orla Kiely look this Summer, and why wouldn’t you, she’s also designed a number of cycling accessories including saddle covers (£5.99), bike bells (£9.99), water bottles (£9.99) and a bike helmet (£34.99).

There’s even a range of camping gear, including this rather distinctive two person tent – sure to get you noticed at Glastonbury this summer – which will set you back £100.

Plus picnic rugs (£25), sleeping bags (£30)and coolbags! Seems like Orla Kiely – pronounced Kylie, apparently – has been busy this summer. The products will be available from May, hopefully in time for some better weather!

Says Orla Kiely: “The prints for the Olive and Orange collection are a natural fit for cycling and outdoors, as they feel organic and inspired by nature. The designs are rooted in the ’60s but the range itself is about modern summer living, whether it’s cycling around town on one or two print bikes or taking the cool two person tent to a festival.”
