Galaxy S6: Has Samsung confirmed wireless charging?

The features Samsung Galaxy S6 are widely speculated at the moment, and one of the many rumoured features is wireless charging. But, just like the camera last week, Samsung doesn’t seem to be happy with letting the rumour mill do its thing, and seems to have confirmed that wireless charging will indeed be coming to the Galaxy S6.

In a recent blog post on its website, Samsung wrote about how wireless charging should be an industry standard. Part of the blog post goes into the benefits of including wireless charging, and one line in particular is rather noteworthy:

“With our upcoming Galaxy smartphones, users will be able to enter a new wireless world like never before.”

That’s probably about as close as we’re going to get to an official confirmation before Samsung officially launches the phone.

Sadly, as Ubergizmo points out, current thinking is that the Galaxy S6 will have an all-metal body, which won’t really play nice with magnetic induction wireless charging. We’ll just have to wait and see what MWC brings us.
