Android Silver may not be dead after all

Not too long ago we heard news that Android Silver had been put on hold for a variety of possible reasons, including one of the programmes chief architects leaving Google. But there is still hope, because according to TKTechNews the programme may still see the light of day.

According to the site sources claim that devices intended for Android Silver have already been built by both Motorola and HTC, and it could well be that Google ends up releasing them under the Android Silver banner. That means the programme might be on hold, but it’s far from completely dead. The site does admit these phones could be released as Google Play editions should Android Silver still be a no go.

TechRadar points out that given Motorola’s confusing release schedule it is very possible that the company has made a phone for Android Silver, but the fact that Motorola has a bunch of phones that may not get released is by no means a definite indicator that Android Silver is happening.

It’s still a bit up in the air right now, and until we hear some definite confirmation from Google about Android Silver’s future then we can’t take anything we hear as fact.
