People will go to extreme lengths to get an iPhone 6 on launch day

Did you miss out on a pre-order that will get you an Phone 6 on Friday? You’re on luck, you can get hold of an iPhone 6 on launch day. You just have to be willing to pay an obscene amount of money to get one.

People have been selling off iPhone 6 pre-orders on eBay for a crazy amount of cash, and by crazy I mean multiple thousands of dollars. In the image above you can see that an iPhone 6 went for over $3,000, which is roughly equivalent to £1,847.

Now you don’t have to spend so much money to try and get one on launch day, but with queues outside of Apple stores already getting rather large, there is absolutely no guarantee that you’ll be able to queue up and walk away with a new phone on the day. Considering most retailers are backed up on pre-orders (Apple Store UK has a waiting period of at least seven days) it’s providing a great opportunity for people to take advantage.

Then again, those bids on eBay might be totally fake and it could well have been a small group of people bidding on the same item to try and inflate the price for fun. We don’t really know. All we do know is that the iPhone 6 is going to be a hot commodity, and it’s totally believable that people are going to such extreme lengths to get their hands on one.
