Google has added 1080p tab casting to Chromecast

Chromecast is a great way to throw a Chrome tab onto a bigger screen for a number of reasons, whether it be to watch a video or just to have something available on a second display so that you don’t need keep switching between windows all the time. Now that system has had a nice little upgrade known as ‘enhanced tab casting’.

This allows you to cast tabs with 1080p resolution, running at 60 frames per second. But now it’s not just restricted to Google Chrome, a new update means that Firefox on Android now has tab casting support. All you need is a Chromecast to get yourself started. [OMG Chrome via Gizmodo UK]
